A Revocation of IndependenceYears ago it had become necessary to disband our political ties which had connected us with Great Britain. We had done so in the name of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Henceforth we, the United States of America, revoke our independence from you. Over the years our government has listened to those governed, but Americans seem tired of this juvenile system of government. Genetic Engineering benefits“It's not natural and could have negative repercussions in the future.” That is one of the many arguments against genetic engineering. The ill effects of genetically modified food has not been proven to be a great threat and if it even presented the most infinitesimal of threats the benefits thereof would out-weigh any consequences. With the cost of food rising and warmer climates destroying crops it would be a folly not to invest in these technologies. Breeding MediocrityLower standards for the sake of self esteem or making one's self look better that idea has taken root in high schools and people across the U.S. Why is it that people must lower the standards to look or feel better versus trying harder? I think it is due to the fact that many Americans believe that they have some natural right for the world to be handed to them. It is partially due to some parents believing every kid should get a trophy for participating. Participation is nice, yes, however, there are people far more deserving of recognition.
